Salvation
Salvation
The Problem
“… all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…”
(Rom. 3:23)
The Solution
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom. 5:8)
“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Rom. 10:9)
“And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Acts 2:21)
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
It’s a fact. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. This includes you, whether you’re willing to admit it or not. It’s not meant to be a judgmental statement, but if you’re here reading this, then you are a part of “all”, and you, too, have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Keep in mind, though, that you have plenty of company. The rest of humanity is right beside you in the quicksand of sin.
You don’t have to sin “much”, and you don’t have to sin the “really bad ones”. You only have to sin once. And you have. We all have. A lot more than once.
So now you have a choice to make. Do you wish to answer for your sins before God on Judgment Day? Or would you rather have them washed away by the blood of Jesus today? Forever?
Do you wish to pay the penalty for your sins once you’ve been found guilty? Or would you rather accept the fact that Jesus loved you enough to pay the penalty for you…in spite of your guilt?
There’s so much to salvation…and yet it’s so simple. Forget what everyone else has told you about it and look at what the Bible says about it one more time.
“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
“And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
That’s salvation. Calling out to Jesus to save you…and then letting him do it! Rest assured, that YOU can’t save yourself. Only he can do that. But you’ve got to ask him to do it, and then you have to let him do it.
Please…if you haven’t already accepted him as your Lord and Savior, do it today, will ya? Do something priceless for yourself…get to know Jesus! You might be surprised at the Man behind the myth…and there are an awful lot of myths out there. Even from the ‘religious’ folks! In fact, some of those ‘religious’ myths are the worst ones! If you stick around a while, you just might see a few of ‘em exposed! :0)
The Sinner’s Prayer
If you’ve come to this page on purpose and are ready to accept Jesus as your Savior, the angels in heaven (along with the saints who’ve gone on before) are rejoicing right along with us!
“I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” (Luke 15:7).
This is what the Bible says:
“… all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” (Romans 3:23).
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8).
“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9).
“And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Acts 2:21).
“I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.” (John 10:9).
You can pray any way you want to. The thief on the cross had a simple prayer.
“Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” ” (Luke 23:42).
and verse 43 says this:
“Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.” ”
Confess to him that you are a sinner (Rom. 3:23 and 10:9). That you realize that you can’t get into heaven without his redeeming blood (Acts 4:12). Know that he died for your sins (John 3:16). Believe that he was raised from the dead (Rom. 10:9). Ask him to be your Savior (Acts 2:21). Then accept it by faith that you are one of his…not because we say so…but because he, himself, says so (John 10:9). And once you belong to Jesus, you can be sure that…
“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.” (John 10:28).
Prayer is nothing more than talking to God. Just like you talk to your friends or anyone else. If you’re ready you can pray the following prayer or one of your own.
“Dear Lord, I admit to you that I’m a sinner and that I need your forgiveness. I’m sorry, Lord, and ask you to forgive me for my sins and come into my heart to be my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Jesus, for loving me enough to die on the cross in my place, and thank you for your gift of eternal life. In your name, I pray. Amen.”
